So I was reading this piece about how some apps make risky stuff feel like a game, and it got me thinking. A couple months ago, I tried one of those trading apps that uses little challenges and streaks. At first it felt like fun, like I was just playing with numbers, but then I realized I was actually putting real money on the line. Luckily I didn’t lose much, but it did give me a rush.
